Your Child's Comfort and Safety Is Our Top Priority

For many patients, especially children, a dental chair is far from relaxing and dental treatments can cause a lot of anxiety. Sitting still in a dental chair is especially hard for kids! With the help of sedation dentistry, your child can feel at ease while receiving the dental care that they need. By providing your child with good dental experiences at an early age, you can help them feel comfortable visiting their dentist on a regular basis as they get older.

Safe, Effective Nitrous Oxide and Pediatric Dental Sedation Services

Sedation dentistry for children is a safe, effective way to help children who may experience anxiety during dental appointments or who need to undergo a longer or more complex procedure. Our highly qualified team takes into account the individual needs of each patient to provide the appropriate level of care at each appointment.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation for Children

At American Pediatric Dental Group, we offer nitrous oxide as a sedation option to give your child a relaxing dental experience. Nitrous oxide is effective for both children and adults and is administered through a facial mask. Once the mask is placed over your child’s nose, the effects of sedation will begin almost immediately. With nitrous oxide, your child can communicate with their dentist when needed, but will not be startled by surrounding sounds or smells during treatment. Sedation will begin to wear away as soon as the mask is removed.

Commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a mild sedative that’s inhaled through a mask placed over the nose. It helps patients relax during their dental treatment, remaining fully awake and responsive. Nitrous oxide’s effects wear off quickly once the mask is removed, making it a safe and effective option for reducing dental anxiety and discomfort.

General Anesthesia

A patient may request or require dental work under the care of an anesthesiologist, and the child will be completely asleep during the procedure. With general anesthesia, the child will feel no pain during the procedure. This type of sedation requires an IV and a breathing tube during the procedure. To inquire or schedule dental work with general anesthesia, please contact our sedation team at 954-417-1330.

A Safe and Controlled Environment

The safety and well-being of our patients are our top priorities. All sedation methods are administered by our highly trained and experienced dental professionals and patients are monitored closely throughout every moment of the procedure. We adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that sedation dentistry is administered effectively and safely.

Ensuring Comfort for Every Patient

We believe that a child’s worry or anxiety should never stand in the way of receiving necessary dental care. Nitrous oxide and sedation dentistry are part of our commitment to making dental visits a positive experience for everyone. By offering these options, we aim to alleviate any concerns and ensure that our patients receive the care they need. We want every one of our patients to think of the dentist’s office as a place where they can feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe.

Consultation and Communication

Before administering any form of sedation, we conduct a thorough consultation with you to understand the patient’s medical history, discuss any anxieties, and explain the sedation process. We encourage questions and strive to ensure that patients and caregivers are fully informed and comfortable with the chosen sedation method.

At American Pediatric Dental Group, we’re dedicated to providing a compassionate, patient-focused approach to pediatric dental care. Nitrous oxide and sedation dentistry are just two of the many ways we tailor our services to meet the needs of each patient. If your child often exhibits anxiety during dental appointments or you’re interested in learning more about sedation dentistry options, our team is here to guide you and ensure a comfortable and anxiety-free dental experience.

An incredibly wonderful dental clinic, its staff is highly qualified, a very professional and friendly staff, very attentive, the treatment of children being the best I have ever seen. I recommend this clinic and its doctors and technical staff 100%.
Mariangel V.
Doctors are very friendly and understanding with kids, and also take parents in consideration to join the process and explain everything you need to know about your child's dental health. Making and rescheduling appointments is very easy. And there's almost no wait time.
Carla L.
Super attentive and knowledgeable. I appreciate how clearly the doctor explained everything and takes time to answer questions. Very gentle and thorough with my options.
Sherley PJ.
The office is so clean and welcoming, and the staff makes children feel so comfortable. The way that they give details on what each child needs was so good. I’m happy that we made the decision to switch dental offices and come to American Pediatric Dental.
Stephanie R.
Amazing experience! I have been bringing my kids here for a while but today was the best experience yet. The dental hygienist was so patient and caring.
Yamile P.
I've been taking my son here for more than 10 years. The staff are super nice and very professional as well as the doctors. I recommend this dentist to everyone.
Cliff M.
Very professional. Easily guided us through the treatment plan after they reviewed my son was checked in. Removed many cavities and did the anesthesia under 1:00 if not sooner. They were very friendly and the Dr was obviously very intelligent when it came to children. My son wasn't as nervous with this dentist as the last one - 5 star experience.
Serena H.
Had a great experience! My son is five years old and they did a great job working on his teeth. When he came back, it looked like he had veneers. They were pearly white and done to perfection. Thank you so much for helping my son and making sure it was a pleasant experience - will recommend and definitely will use them in the future.
Erica B.
I highly recommend - the staff and dentists are all professional, caring and helpful. I was very nervous going through the Sedation process, it can be a bit overwhelming. The staff eased my mind, explained the plan of the procedure in detail (before, during & after), answered any question I had and took the time to reassure me my kids were in good hands. The procedure went smooth and all dental work was completed in 1 visit.
