Emergency Dentistry

Dental emergencies can arise when least anticipated, often catching us off guard. Should your child encounter a dental emergency, we’re ready to step in with immediate care. Prompt attention is crucial in these situations, as it can alleviate your child’s discomfort and prevent further complications. If your child requires urgent dental attention, don’t hesitate to call any of our Florida offices. We’ll make every effort to accommodate your child into our schedule as swiftly as possible, providing relief and treating the emergency effectively.

Broken Tooth

In the event of a broken tooth, your initial step should be to carefully cleanse your child’s mouth to remove any dislodged tooth fragments. A cold compress, such as a damp washcloth applied to the external facial area, can help manage any swelling that might occur. It’s vital to seek immediate dental attention for a broken tooth, so please reach out to our office without delay.

Knocked Out Tooth

Permanent Tooth: If a permanent tooth is knocked out, preserve it in a container of milk until your child can be seen by their dentist. Ensure you handle the tooth only by the crown, never by the root. If the tooth can be reinserted into the socket, have your child hold it in place by biting down on a piece of gauze or a washcloth while awaiting dental care. If feasible, aim to bring your child to our office within a 30-minute window, which enhances the possibility of saving the tooth.

Primary (Baby) Teeth: When a primary tooth is dislodged, there is no need to reinsert it into the socket. Attempting this could risk harm to the underlying permanent tooth still within the gums. Arrange an appointment for an examination of your child’s oral cavity. Should your child require a tooth restoration or space maintainer, treatment options can be deliberated during this visit.

Toothaches

A variety of causes can lead to toothaches, including infections, injuries, or abscesses. It’s imperative to have your child evaluated by their dentist to identify the root cause of the discomfort. Neglecting toothaches can lead to the condition deteriorating over time. As an interim measure, you can rinse your child’s mouth with warm salt water to soothe any infection-induced discomfort. Gentle brushing and flossing are also recommended to maintain cleanliness. Your child’s dentist can ascertain the source of the toothache and advise on the most effective treatment plan.

Bitten Tongue, Cheek, or Lip

Injuries to the tongue, cheek, or lip can occur in areas that have been numbed or as a result of an accident. When a child cannot sense a particular area in their mouth, it can be easily injured if they bite down. Moreover, a chipped or broken tooth can potentially cut or scrape the mouth’s soft tissues. If this happens, cleanse their mouth with warm salt water and continue regular brushing and flossing. A topical anesthetic can be applied to the injured area for pain relief, and a cold compress can help address swelling. If the injury is severe, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions and schedule an appointment as required.

My son has had his last three appointments here and we are super happy and satisfied, the dental assistant who treated us today (Her name is Akita I think) was exceptionally patient and a good explainer. The doctor was excellent too. Even though the location is a bit far from where I live, I 100% prefer to come to this location than to the nearest location. Thanks for everything and keep it up.

Staff is always welcoming, but today they really went beyond. I am very grateful and pray God continue blessing them. I really recommend this place I have been taking my children here for almost over 8yrs. I had set appointments for my 2 children. But one needed an additional service and I had requested to be called for any cancellations due to insurance problems. They immediately without any hesitation started contacting the up coming set appointments that had not confirmed and were able to find a cancellation and my child was able to be seen for the additional service. Thank you so much for your help!

I take my daughter for her annual visit every six month and every time I go is awesome! Doctors are very friendly and understanding with kids, and also take parents in consideration to join the process and explain everything you need to know about your child's dental health. Making and rescheduling appointments is very easy. And there's almost no wait time. Front desk staff is very polite and nice. Very happy with their services.
